Important Dates - Mark your Calendars

11 November - Remembrance Day

Service at 11.00am

Rememberance Day is the anniversary of the cease fire signaling the end of the great War or World War one as it was later known. The Beaudesert Sub Branch holds a service every year on November the 11th commencing at 10.45am at the Beaudesert Cenotaph to honour the memory of Australians who have served in all War conflicts. Why purchase a red poppy on Rememberance Day? Some of the bloodiest fighting of the Great War took place in the Flanders and Picardy regions of Northern France. The poppy was the only thing which grew in the aftermath of the complete devastation.

18th August - Long Tan Day

In memory of the 18 Australian’s who paid the supreme sacrifice, 24 wounded (one later died in hospital) at Long Tan, Vietnam 1966. The Beaudesert Sub-Branch hold a service on this day each year in memory at the WW2 memorial in Jubilee park (next to the pool) and later they meet at the Beaudesert RSL Services Club Inc.
